 James Pantages has celebrated over 30 years concentrating his professional practice in matters relating to insurance defense and coverage, civil litigation, personal injury, product liability, employment, professional malpractice and commercial litigation on behalf of insurance companies and self-insured entities. He is among the select attorneys to be approved by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Rule 1:40 Qualified Mediator and has consistently been named to the list of New Jersey "Super Lawyers."
Jim serves as New Jersey outside counsel to many nationally recognized insurers, such as, GEICO, CUNA Mutual Group, and NCMIC Group (one of the nation's leading providers of Medical and Chiropractic Malpractice Insurance) among others. He is frequently asked to lecture before various insurance, professional and management groups concerning coverage and policy issues, as well as on recent developments in tort and employment law. In addition to his insurance defense practice, Jim is involved in high profile litigation concerning employment discrimination, personal injury, medical malpractice, and other significant matters.
In 1990, Jim was elected into the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, the nation's most prestigious and exclusive association whose members devote a substantial amount of their professional time to the representation of insurance companies, associations, corporations, or others in the defense of civil litigation, where he is actively involved as a member of the Civil Litigation, Transportation and Employment Practice Sections.
He is an active member of the New Jersey Defense Association, the organization that represents New Jersey defense attorneys, full-time executives, managers or supervisory employees of insurance companies, self-insurers and other corporations who devote a substantial portion of their time to the defense of damage suits or to claims administration.
Jim is admitted to practice before all federal and state courts in the State of New Jersey. He is a member of the United States Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Essex County and New Jersey Bar Associations.
