Since 1984, R. Scott King has focused his professional practice on transactional business and real estate matters. His advice and counsel extends to small and mid-size closely held businesses across such industry segments as media and communications, construction, banking and information services.

Scott's real estate practice runs the full spectrum of residential, commercial, industrial and land use matters from the acquisition, disposition and financing of real property to focusing on the needs of landlords and tenants in commercial and residential leases. He has significant experience with mortgage workouts as well as with land use development from planning through final approvals, build out and environmental compliance. He has gained a reputation for building successful teams that include clients, architects, lenders, engineers and planners to complete the tasks at hand. He is a regular speaker on real estate matters before realtor groups, and in concert with other real estate professionals as well as to groups of homebuyers.

Scott's commercial and business practice covers general business, commercial and transactional matters including business formations, acquisitions, mergers, contracts, negotiation and business counseling.

Scott has conducted trials before various Superior Courts and municipalities in New Jersey and he regularly appears on behalf of his clients before planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment throughout Northern New Jersey. He is licensed to practice before the New Jersey Superior Court, the New Jersey Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

In addition to his membership in the Essex County and the New Jersey State Bar Associations, Scott is a counselor in the Essex/Morris Inn of Transactional Counsel. He is also a member of the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions and the Glen Rock Environmental Commission. He is a Trustee and General Counsel to the Glen Rock Public Education Foundation, and has participated as a member of the New Jersey Federation of Planning Officials. He is also a former board member of the River Edge, New Jersey Zoning Board of Adjustment.

Scott is a graduate of Wittenberg University and Delaware Law School.
