The program is designed to provide attorneys who practice Elder Law and Estate Planning and those attorneys who are seeking to become Guardians with a full understanding of the fundamentals of a guardianship practice: all actions for appointment of a conservator or guardian, their duties and responsibilities, and issues related to Government benefits, ethics and litigation. Attendees will also be briefed on the role of a court-appointed guardian and their role in protecting the best interest of an elderly or disabled client.
Prior to his work in private practice, Adam Dubeck served as an Associate Counsel at the Office of the Public Guardian for Elderly Adults of New Jersey. Presently, his work with clients at Stein McGuire focuses on a number of areas within Elder Law and Estate Planning including guardianships, powers of attorney, living wills, advanced directives, special needs trusts and the drafting/planning of wills, trusts, and virtually all estate litigation and administration needs. He recently completed a course of study at Fairleigh Dickinson University to obtain his graduate certification in Estate, Gift and Trust Taxation - a certification typically only carried by those in the accounting industry.
The cost to attend the program is $169 per person, and discounts are available for paralegals, attorneys with less than 2 years in practice, and members of the New Jersey State Bar Association. For more information, visit www.njicle.com.
